Costa Rica is ready for us!

MARCH 2022 NEWSLETTER

Dear Ministry Partners,

I thank God for your love for Christ and for His people. May this ministry update bring encouragement and joy in the spirit.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – ACTS 1:8

As a way to commemorate our first year as a church, we marked it with our very first mission trip to Costa Rica, reaching out to students at Universidad de Costa Rica.

We had two goals for this trip. First we aimed to share the gospel with the students and familiarize ourselves with the culture of the university so that we could effectively plant the church in Costa Rica. Secondly, we focused on empowering our Panamanian student leaders by letting them engage and share the gospel with students. But the end of this year we want to see 50 strong student leaders in Panama to lead the growing campus ministry.

A faith journey

Preparing for a missions trip is always faith building. Our students experienced God faithfully providing for their passports, trip costs, and above all, the grace of being able to win other students for Christ.

Pictured are three of our student leaders with their very first stamp in their passport. Katerin and Samuel from the Universidad de Panamá and Irving from the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá.

Sharing the gospel.

Sámuel, one of our Panamanian student leaders (wearing gray), highlights this mission trip by meeting an atheist student (the guy next to him). He learned to trust God in the process of sharing the Gospel with other students and that God is the one who does the work of salvation. Sam is excited to return to his university to engage more students with the Gospel.

Meet Adrian

Adrian is a freshman at the University of Costa Rica and also an English major. So when we met him the first day on campus, we were excited to see him and he was excited to see us! So much so that he told his English professor about our team, and she invited us to lead activities in her class the following day!

Later, Adrian would invite his whole class to our outreach event at a pizzeria in front of his campus, where his whole class had the chance to hear the Gospel. We are believing that Adrian will accept Christ soon and be a light to his campus.

English Class

Here we are leading English activities in Adrain’s class. We are grateful for this open door God is giving us to engage freshmen at the University of Costa Rica.

We are excited to continue to work with the English professor on future projects with incoming freshmen.

THE GOSPEL PREACHED!

We ended the mission trip by inviting the students we met over our three days engaging the campus to a Pizza Party at a famous Pizzeria right in front of the campus. By faith, we rented their entire second floor and God filled it with students. After a time of board games and pizza, our campus pastor from Peru, preached the gospel to the students and a good number of them raised their hands to accept Christ.

We are encouraged to see how open the students are to receiving Christ and we are now starting follow up with these students. Bianca and I plan to go back to Costa Rica in a couple of months to continue to minister to these students reached during this first trip.

Thank you!

Bianca and I are grateful for your partnership in reaching the university campuses for Jesus.

Thank you for your generous giving that will impact lives eternally. Together, we are reaching the next generation and raising godly leaders that impact the nations for the gospel.

Love,

Mark & Bianca
