MEET STEVE!

May 2022 Newsletter

Dear Ministry Partner!

It is with great joy that I extend my greetings to you! It’s hard to imagine the impact of inviting thousands, one at a time, towards spending an eternity with God. What a privilege we have.

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

Revelations 7:9

MEET STEVE!

Steve Mendez, 22, is a criminology student at Universidad de Panama. He is a member of Panama’s indigenous Guna tribe. He speaks Spanish and Guna (a tribal language) . He enjoys learning foreign languages and cultures.

We met him and his friends while doing a worship service and games in the park. Steve quickly made friends and connected with everyone.Steve started coming to our worship service after that, and enjoying new friends and being a part of a spiritual community.

He told us that he first heard about Christ’s when someone spoke to his football team. That opened his heart to Christ, but when the pandemic hit, he lost touch with them and didn’t hear from them again until he met us. As we learned more about his life, we asked him if he would be interested in getting to know God better through one-on-one discipleship. Steve began his journey of discipleship, and when we were talking about it, He asked two questions.

Steve’s Questions?

What is his assurance of being saved?

This question came up when we were studying what the Bible says about Salvation, how sins separate us from God.

He understood the gravity of sin and no good works can lead him towards salvation.

It was at this moment his eyes had lit up with clarity of what it means to be saved. He understood that it only by grace through faith in Christ Jesus that will bring him salvation.

How will I know what are sins in the eyes of God?

At this point, he also realized that to honor God, he had to know Him, His ways, and what the Bible says is sin. Steve has started to read the Bible and is learning to make it a habit to pray and read the Bible.

Muchas Gracias!

We work together for the honor of ushering the multitude into the eternal kingdom.

Together, we will fulfill God’s call to reach the nations, tribes, and peoples of the world with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Thank you for your generous giving to the proclamation of the gospel!

God’s blessings on you.

Your missionary,

MARK GONZAGA
